Aashika Anantharaman

Aashika Anantharaman majored in Psychology and Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois of Urbana Champaign. She has been involved in sexual assault prevention education on campus, as a facilitator of the First Year Campus Acquaintance Rape Education program and the sexual assault bystander intervention (ICARE) programs. She spent the past semester interning at the Womens’ resources center where she coordinated the outreach and schedule for the ICARE and I Heart Healthy Relationships Programs. Her undergraduate senior thesis in Psychology with the Allen Laboratory, was about factors influencing rape myth acceptance among college students in India. Aashika is also passionate about music and art, and spends her free time playing the guitar, singing and drawing. She hopes to go to graduate school to study clinical psychology and become a counselor in the future.
